Andy Warner awarded new prestigious qualification – Associate of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers

SWPP-Qualified-Member---Black-TextIt has been a supper exciting week here at Andy Warner HQ. First off, I get the great news that one of my images has made it into the final for “image of the year” in the Guild of Photographers child portrait category, i was then also named in the top 100 photographers of 2017 by Magic Lens Group and then the week really ended with a bang as I got the amazing news that I have been awarded with an “Associate in photography” from the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers.

So what is an SWPP Associateship? Well this is what they say:
“At Associateship standard, we are viewing images that not only display a high degree of technical ability, but also portray imagination and creativity in execution and presentation. These are important factors that often go hand in hand with higher prices as this qualification is held by the top 10% of practitioners, who coincidentally are often impressive image makers and astute businessmen”

For me becoming “qualified” at such a level is all about personal development, it is about pushing myself to be the very best i can be and to never stop getting better. This award has been a year in the making while meticulously critiquing my own work and taking on the advice of some of the most experienced photographers in the world. To be excepted for such a great award means everything to me after having 20 of my images viewed and scored by a panel of top international judges.

Here is my final Associate panel which is made up of portrait images all created in 2017.
